About Hannah Jacobsma

Hello dancer-friendly families! My name is Hannah Jacobsma and I was born and raised in Saugatuck, Michigan. I began dancing at the ripe age of three, and have loved dancing ever since! I moved on to dance in the School of the Grand Rapids Ballet Company where I performed with the company each year in The Nutcracker and many other performances, such as Balanchine's Serenade. Two years ago, I graduated from Hope College with degrees in English Creative Writing and French Language. I was fortunate enough to continue dancing through college where I performed with the Hope College Ballet Club and got to live my dream of dancing the roles of both the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Snow Queen in The Nutcracker. Since moving to Bozeman in January 2018, I have spent much time fly-fishing, learning to snowboard, and exploring the seemingly endless beauty. I have also been very lucky to work for Alpengirl Camp, an amazing outdoor adventure camp for girls, in the office this winter, and will be a guide for the camp this summer leading trips all over the northwest! I also had the privilege of leading "Bird Scouts," an after-school science program, in Manhattan Spring 2018. I am so excited to continue to be involved in this wonderful community, and to bring the art of ballet to young people in Manhattan this fall. I believe that ballet is a beautiful opportunity to express oneself, strengthen the body, and have fun! This is what I hope to bring to your young dancers this fall ~ I look forward to dancing with you!
